There are all kinds of changes in life. Sometimes they are small changes like the color of my hair or the fall leaves striking wonderful colors. Those changes can be exciting and fun. Other times circumstances bring about very large changes to your entire life. Those larger changes can be frightening or even downright terrifying. The thing is, whether it's something exciting or terrifying, change is going to happen, so I figure the best thing to do is just embrace it. When circumstances bring those larger more frightening changes into my life, I look around to find an anchor to help me stabilize myself. One of those anchors is this very mountain range. The official name is the Organ Mountains of southern New Mexico. I on the other hand think of them as my Godzilla Mountains. They are there to protect me, to watch over me, to comfort me and to remind me of how strong and courageous I am. When I took the leap to move beyond the protection of my Godzilla Mountains, I realized I had to take them with me. They will continue to be my barrier of protection, to embrace the change each day brings with the rising and setting of the sun.
